Recent Kenyan Laws
The Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes (Amendment) Act, 2025
Passed on 15th October 2025 and came into force 4th November 2025. The Act provides for offences relating to cyberbullying and other online unlawful activities. The High Court has suspended some sections of the Act that may infringe online freedoms until full hearing of the petition.
The National Land Commission (Amendment) Act, 2025
Passed on 15th October 2025 and came into force 4th November 2025. The Act increases the functions and powers of the National Land Commission (NLC), including its ability to receive new applications for the review of grants and dispositions over public land and claims of historical land injustice.
The Privatization Act, 2025
Passed on 15th October 2025 and came into force 4th November 2025. The Act provides a regulatory framework for the privatization of public entities in Kenya and establishes the Privatization Authority to undertake this work.
